Hey Got Gamers,

As we draw closer to the launch of new videogame hardware, the console advertising machine is going into overdrive. Since word of mouth is the best advertisement you can buy, both PlayStation Canada and Xbox Canada have decided to give you hands on time with their hardware by renting retail locations and filling them with hardware and software demos. You can’t buy anything at these locations, but regardless the platform holders are hoping their investment will lead to you spreading some next-gen positivity among your friends and family.

That being said, if you haven’t had hands on time with either console, these retail locations are a great place to dive into the deep-end of the upcoming console generation.

Leading up to their November 22nd launch, Xbox Canada has just opened up what they’re calling the Xbox One Headquarters in Toronto. It’s 2 stories of big flat screen televisions, Xbox Ones, controllers, and Kinects. The idea is to give you an idea of what the games will be like, but also what the consoles will be like. How the controller will feel in your hand, or how the Kinect will track your movements. For the record, it’s also the same 5000-square foot venue that the Magnum Ice Cream people used over the past summer for their pop-up store.

Sony has been enjoying a big lead in the hearts and minds of the general consumer since the day that the Xbox press conference from E3 2013 became international news. That being said, the people at PlayStation Canada have decided that they’re not going to coast to their November 15th launch on E3 momentum alone.

PlayStation Canada has opened up 3 different PS4 pop-up stores across the country. Although, if you’re reading this, chances are good that the one you’ll care about is located at the Scarborough Town Centre. If you know the Centre very well, this PlayStation 4 store can be found in the general area of the mall’s Scotiabank; however, once you’re on location the mall’s staff will be able to point you in the right direction regardless.
